About 8 bulbs per pound depending on the size. Garlic can be stored in a cool dark place until December. After that they may become hollow or start to grow. By end of November I put all my unused garlic in the freezer just as they are (without peeling). That way I have enough until my garlic scapes are ready or even until my garlic is ready in July.
